Visiting the Smyrna Agora
Visiting Ephesus
We absolutely loved our visit to Ephesus. It’s mind-blowing to think about how many years have passed and how these archaeological ruins are still standing.
Today, Ephesus is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Archaeological and restoration work prioritizes the preservation of the natural landscape surrounding the ruins, protecting the local flora and fauna of the area.
Visiting the House of the Virgin Mary
We were lucky enough to visit the House of the Virgin Mary, which is located in a nature reserve on Mount Bülbül. It is a protected area aimed at preventing deforestation, urbanization, and the disruption of its Mediterranean ecosystem of pine and olive trees.
Visiting Sirince
We visited Şirince, world-renowned as a 'green oasis' in the Turkish Aegean region. It is recognized as a model for sustainable tourism and rural development, even receiving global recognition from the UN. The village was awarded for its commitment to preserving its natural environment, conserving cultural heritage, and promoting a sustainable model of rural development.
