We thought it was a brilliant idea to show our partners the Church of San Justo in Mejorada del Campo. It is a cathedral built by Justo Gallego Martínez using recycled materials and donations from individuals and companies. Justo showed that with effort and determination, dreams can come true. Are you ready to help us to achieve our dream of getting a greener planet?
It is located in C/ Antonio Gaudí 10, 28840 Mejorada del Campo
This is a portrait of Justo, which was created using recycled drink cans.
Justo Gallego Martínez was a farmer and bricklayer who dedicated 60 years of his life to build the “Cathedral of Justo” in the town of Mejorada del Campo, near Madrid. This cathedral was erected as a gesture of gratitude to the Virgin of Pilar for curing him of tuberculosis when he was young. Justo, also known as the “mad bricklayer,” was a man of deep religious faith and committed himself to the construction of the cathedral on his own, using recycled materials and with the help of a few volunteers.
That was the spot where the first stone of the church was laid. After this stone, he worked hard until he finished the Church, as you can see in the following pictures:
At the end of the visit, we couldn´t leave the Church without taking a picture of us.
